You guys did it again, just love ya all!  When I read the comments of you Oldvet, I was certainly shocked and saddened, but of course we have all been where you were, stressed and frustrated.  Trying to hold it together, for your family while your world, is crumbling.  Just as I have experienced in the past, those voices of reason and support, reached out, and hopefully touched you Oldvet, I am hoping they helped you, as they have helped me hang in.  It was somewhat surprising to see how quickly a few words could  change the whole dynamic in the conversation.  Surprising until I sat back and read the words with a soldiers mind, I pictured myself, with my guys, in stressful fast flowing situs and I realized that it wasn't just the words, it was the trust we as soldiers put in one another.  This is the only site that can do that for me, I guess that is why when my pain is intolerable, I come here to read, when I am having a bad day, I come here to make sure that the ups and downs in my life are normal. Most of all I come here to see that everyone else made it through the day, scathed or unscathed we come to this place in our life, and I am hoping that more will join.  I don't see this patience, knowledge, or willingness to get down an dirty with reality on any other site.  Maybe it is the incognito that makes us put out the vulnerability and the strength for one another, don't know don't care, I absolutely hope we can continue our esprit de corps.  Facto Non Verba

This makes me sick. Some people on here have banked on the final outcome, thinking that it would be done quickly, only to be f28ked over. I had a plan, sold my home, yet here I sit in a motel wishing I had waited a bit longer. I understand how one can be crushed with debt, having been down that road before. Oldvet if you can, stop the bankruptcy. Please, if possible. It is not an absolution really when you consider you have money coming in in about 60 days max. A bankruptcy is brutal at best. Keep the wolves from the door if you can. If you own a home, sell it. Car...sell it. But please reconsider if you can. They allow you to work with Credit counselling to pay your debts, having one structured smaller payment. This bought me about 6 months when I did it. But then I made the declaration and lost everything. Contact Credit Counselling in your area and they can help. Please. Good luck.

It was what was passed on to me from dm who got it from mc. Now we all know how many times the outcome of the settlement changed! So it was to best of my knowladge, never told anyone to bank on it! Oldvet, old but not wise it seems...
My advice dont file for bankrupcy before receiving your retro, they will seize it. If you get it and file, they cant touch it. But you could also get your retro and pay off what you owe! Ayway dont quote me on that...

That is the problem, unless the info is put in writing from the top, it is just speculation, and or second or third hand information, so one must take caution on it's validity.
In my view I see nothing wrong with one passing on info to another, that is what were all about, helping, and or passing on what we have heard or been told.
So what I am saying is that I for one embrace the fact that others do pass on info here, regardless if it's fact or not.
In any case we can make our own determination as to it's validity.
One that acts on information before it is verified, is doing so on their own free will, therefor they must except any consequences, if any.

I didn't spend any retro before I got it. You specifically told me and many others that DW told you directly that he had the checks and members would receive them within two weeks. I did not imply otherwise. All I was stating, was that advice from certain members can be detrimental. I was expecting repayment nearly 6 months ago. Humiliated , broken and poor, I borrowed from in laws, payday loans, credit cards etc etc etc.... Only to finally lose everything. I am sure everybody here has there sad stories so I won't bother you with mine. To top it all off I was released 3B with only two months shy of a medical annuity. Thank You to you and your family for your service.

OldVet, please see if you can reverse your bankruptcy or withdraw it before you receive you retro! Your trustee will find out about it because it will be on this years income tax and issued after your date of bankruptcy . By law they will try to seize it another guy at my legion has been threatened with a lawsuit from his trustee because sisip ltd is not exempt from bankruptcy only VAC pension act payments are! Even VAC ELB can be seized, only the pension act award is exempt!

Oldvet, don't assume that you are the only person here that wouldn't prefer to still be serving. I grew up in a military family, with both grandfathers serving in WWII, a father in law that served in Korea, my father served 26 years as a Field Engineer, and my Brother is in his 24th year in the Navy, so for me to be released after only 15 years because my body broke down, made me feel like I had failed my family. So now I am also no longer able to walk or work for the last two years, so the effort I put into the lawsuit, and helping other Veterans, is the only way that I and others here feel that we are still contributing to our community of Veterans. If it wasn't for CSAT, I could have fallen deeply into depression, and we all know the all too familiar fate at the end of that road for too many Vets. And we've all done our time and served our country proudly, so for you to imply otherwise just makes yourself look like a jackass.

As a result I have gone bankrupt, I could only hold off creditors for so long. This whole settlement has turned into a joke. How much does the crown owe me????? how much more can I get????? how I got screwed????? I say F ya'll. If I could dawn the uniform again, I would..... Unfortunatley a broken back, broken ankles and feet and PTSD exclude me from enrollment. If half of you placed as much interest in recovery as you do the lawsuit, you would be well off........ I am not processed yet, but I have been reading post of others who received their retro, both here and on facebook.

It seems to me that a lot of paid individuals, are stating that their retro was higher than expected.

That to me is a good thing, I only read one, where they state that it was lower.

The interest/ cola/ top up / must be the reason behind this.
