I don't appeal pinger ... Reassessment only .... Just more KD and all beef wieners if they deny me ... The appeal process is so time consuming and stressful... Not worth the effort for my self worth ( personally)

He knows his stuff... and we all learn from each other.

Yes I got multiple results alright. Did not need appeals. V. Very draining in time though.
Are you just waiting for a subsequent med. re-assess vet? Hope it's not an appeal.
Be very smart vet, not too cocky approaching VaC. 5/5 at 5 in 1985.

Stay very well all, pinger.

I have too. I had my knee assessment go from 15% to 34% after a reassessment. But I've also seen where they increased an assessment by 1%, providing no actual financial gain.
But where as your initial assessment was for 5%, at 5/5, VAC was saying that you had "Essentially normal range of motion, but pain now present on a daily basis and/or with movement." at that time. So any loss of RoM, would increase the assessment. 9% plus QoL for a loss of up to 50% Rom, and 13% plus QoL for more than 50% loss.

Yes I have ZZ. It happened to me. They increased it after I did the psych eval to prove it wasn't in my head and did the therapies of physio, massage and pain management.

Ask you doctor if he/she has noticed the decrease of mobility and the increase of pain and visits to the doctor's office for your back.

ya ...  i just have a belief that they somehow will not increase it ......they will react like it part of growing old ... and keep it as it is and i do not have the time patience to battle ....  have you seen or heard  them slightly increasing % without having to appeal on a reassessment?

Well all the information is here It tells you what normal range of motion is, and how much of an award is granted, based on the recorded symptoms.

VeteranZZ, they have already determined how much other factors, such as age, affected your disability, on your initial application. So if you were given 5/5, ten years ago, they cannot say that you are only entitled to 4/5ths of the new assessment. But if you were injured ten years ago, but didn't put in a VAC application, because it wasn't that severe, and are only applying now, because it has gotten worse, then VAC will take age will play a bigger factor.

ZZ make sure that you have your need for increased meds, therapy, xrays, a cat scan wouldn't hurt and if you have gone to a pain management clinic for assessment and program.

One thing VAC will want is to make sure the pain isn't in your head. So go to a psychiatrist for an assessment. I know it sounds stupid to go to a shrink but trust me it is very helpful for you. I did it and it helped prove to VAC that I am in pain....constant pain.....and it's not in my head.
