MVA Mandate Letter dated Dec 2019

Re: MVA Mandate Letter dated Dec 2019
I have spoken to VAC (various reps) WRT a claim. I was told different things by different people......we have all been down that road before.......one time I was told it had been "assigned." I thought that was a good thing seeing the claim wasn't all that old. Like others....another time I was told "they are still working on claims from February." So .....I spoke to someone else days ago saying how can it be assigned if they are still working on February's claims??? I got this..........(not verbatim)....they are still working on claims from Feb because there are some they haven't been able to complete (due to various reasons....ie; needing additional info) and they are not able to move forward (to the next month...being March) until those one's are finalized!!
Now that makes sense as to why things are going so slow.......but it doesn't make sense to hold the majority of claims up because of a few claims that they are not able to complete/finalize????
If this is the case.....wow......it is like the stone ages mentality.

Re: MVA Mandate Letter dated Dec 2019
Unknown Soldier found this....
“We are also experimenting with six consequential disabilities which we understand may result from a service related mental health condition. Through a pilot program, we will adjust processes to provide Veterans who receive favourable decisions for a mental health condition with automatic entitlement for associated consequential conditions. These disabilities include Xerostomia, Erectile Dysfunction (ED), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), and Bruxism. We expect that this approach will help reduce the paperwork burden for Veterans, provide immediate access for financial reimbursement and reduce paperwork.”
Nice to see this but there is one word in that paragraph that gives the bureaucrat who could lose their yearly bonus the right to kill this idea. That word is "experimenting". Odd word to chose for processing claims that are becoming all too common.
But it will probably happen because the automatic application approval for lose of hearing and tinnitus is no longer a VAC rule. Seems some regions in Canada are making veterans with tinnitus go to an ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) specialist to only have an audiologist do the tinnitus test. A test that is done in over 95% of all hearing aid companies by trained audiologists across Canada! Guess the bureaucrat was missing his yearly bonus and fought to have it reverted back to his departments oversight. Seems the "experiment" with hearing aids and tinnitus masking systems was too efficient.

I’ve said this before but if they really want to clear the cue, go through the 40000 claims and find those vets who are already at 100% and just instantly okay their other claims. It results in no monetary pay outs, it just lets said veterans access physio, etc

Re: MVA Mandate Letter dated Dec 2019
I’ll find the link later, but from what I read, if a veteran already has diagnosed PTSD and puts in claims for sleep apnea, irritable bowel syndrome, erectile dysfunction and a few other ailments they are supposed to be consequential to the PTSD without needing to be pre-approved by a Dr. As how you developed them. It’s new VAC policy coming down the pipe , though not yet implemented.Riddick wrote:A couple of the MVA mandate priorities are:

"Deliver a higher standard of service and care, and ensure that a “one Veteran, one standard” approach is upheld." This one.......just makes me laugh and shake my disabled brain.

Wouldn’t it be nice if automatic approvals were added for CIA/CIAS and APSC????
Last time I checked (this week) they are still saying they are working on February. So far this is 8 months I believe they have been working on that month alone. I would not be surprised if the number of March applications is even higher than February’s.
