Re: Benefits when you get married?
As for disadvantages being married, I would say no. As a married couple you will pay less income tax than you would as two separate individuals. (Or course I can't say that that applies if she is not resident in this country) Also as a married couple (at least as long as she is resident in Canada) she could be entitled to certain benefits if you die that may not be available to her if she were single. Do you get a military pension too (CFSA)? Do you have SDB? You will want to ensure her name is on that (SDB) and not someone else like an ex wife.

Are you going thru vocational rehab with SISIP? And what benefits do you currently receive from VAC?

DonnieD. If you are on Facebook, you could join the group Canadian Veterans Advocacy. You are likely to get more responses there as it is more active than this forum.

Benefits when you get married?
I currently am "totally disabled" by SISIP LTD and have benefits from vac too. What I would like to know is if theres any benefits I or my soon to be spouse can take advantage of. Also is there any disadvantages to getting married. My spouse is a foreigner with no employment currently, she's outside the country if that matters here. She will be looking for a job but it's expected to be minimum wage etc.
