Thanks guys. It seems like this website is one of the more useful tools for veterans. I'm going to have to inform more people about it.

I agree with Navrat, Peter Stoffer will take on any veterans issue, even those that don't live in his riding. There are many Torie MP's that stay away from veterans issues solely because as a party, their actions go against every word of support of veterans. There have been too many examples since 2006, where, what the government does in terms of Veterans issues goes completely against what they promised, like the VIP for widows (promised for all, but only few actually received it. Then there was the agent orange and other chemical exposures, where they promised compensation covering decades of exposure, but once in power they arbitrarily narrowed it down to those affected over what equaled less than 6 months They even promised to fix the SISIP issue in the House of Commons in 2007 and 5 years later, we had to have a judge order them to do so. After the multiple privacy breaches, they claimed they tightened access to our personal info within VAC, and then they hand the keys to it all to every Service Canada agent, who don't have to adhere to the "VAC Privacy Action Plan 2.0". Then they have systematically cut or reduced almost every service to Veterans, cutting 40% of VAC staff, closing or transferred many of our long term beds to the provinces. So It would be hard for any government MP to stand up and criticize the lack of support for any particular Veterans, when the party line is to minimize support in order to save money.

I'm just curious if any one has had any success talking with their local Minister of Parliment. What issues are they suppose to deal with and how can they help. The MP's office in my area said they don't like to get invovled in issues because if unsuccessful they will look bad. What are other people's experiences?
