Get out the pen and paper and commence writing the very people we put into power to protect our rights and freedoms as Canadians. Troops it does not get any better than this we need to sit and and have a "proactive conference" here on CSAT and come up with a list of addresses, emails and the likes to ask the GOC to reduce our taxes period. This is a challenge to all lets put our thought together and if you want I will hand deliver the damn letters myself, VETERANS WORKING FOR VETERANS, PRICELESS.

CanadianInfidel this year your are allowed 5500.00 FYI we are both maxed out but they will find away to get there hands on it with a swipe of their pens. To bad the interest rate are dirt they started out at 3% now it like 1.2%.

The bank do have good rates once in a while, but unfortunately you can't just take it out and put it back in at the higher rate. but if you or not maxed out and you could withdraw it at the yearly maturity date or before Jan 1st and put it back in at going rate. But then you lose that room. Like if you had 5k in and you take it out and put it back in it like you used up 10k of the 25,500.00 room.

So make sure if you put in and take out you don't go over the maximum because then they will have you.

The Tax Free Savings Account will protect the interest from taxes but not the amount invested... you can't deduct the deposit from your taxable income like you can an RRSP investment.

I just wanted to post this so no one misunderstands the idea of "tax-free".. you don't get to deduct it now, but you aren't taxed on it when you withdraw funds.

Something which may ease this dilemma for the time being is open a Tax Free Savings Account. You are given a $5000 buffer per year. It's not much for some of you who will see 6 figures or more, but for some it can save you come tax season. I have one which I opened 5 years ago which allows me to stuff $25000 away for future rainy days. Not exactly an off shore account, but should hold off the CRA operatives legally.

We have one year to cause a stink and raise awareness regarding disabled veterans and the taxes, somewhere out there, there are Canadians like you and I who want to help. Reach out and to them and ask.

As most are aware we will receive a refund from SISIP and for most the biggest hurdle will be how to avoid the tax man. Well you can not it is that simple, even holding back 30% will help considerably but will allow for any fudge factor. Even I do not know but I do know one thing and that is with all these very intelligent Veterans here, ie: Sparrow who is actually posting very good material, K9 who is looking into CRA loopholes and everyone else that is actually trying to give all of us an edge we have one proven route that we all traveled and yet we are avoiding it.
