I agree troops a little respect here as we are all here for one thing and we need guys like Recon to light the way sure my boy Recon is a very passionate and diligent man, thorough and a high strung Neuf that can't tread water let alone navigate in it lol, so be patient with him and remember he has stuck his neck out time and time again to assist anyone, so when he feels challenged he becomes testy. I think we all become testy when you do the leg work you just post your facts and your just informing those that want to feel each other out, that's what we do, so the next time we want to feel each other out look to see who is sharing detailed accountable information and be respectful of it. Now everyone piss off and have a good weekend or I will start talking about my self.

@ digger and propat. I'll second that. Let's remember what we have in common... and how we can help each other. Lifes too short and draining for anything less. pinger,

Hi guys,

I think that nobody can expect what the others will receive. It is so complicated, like for me , i live in Quebec so i have to do 2 taxes. RRSP, disable tax credit, do do have split taxes wiht your wife, which year do your retro is ? etc...

I'm happy that some have their 1198 work. Like me for the federal i got the 1198 and for the provincial i got the TP 766.2. What i expect...... i don t know for the 2 documents.

But i'm very happy fot those who got a return. Just be happy for them, because trying to understand a tax report without having ALL the information is like made an attack without recco and not knowing where is the ennemy.

Be happy for those who got a return

Be sad for the ones who has to pay

It's not a place to yell at each other, the thing i'm hoping is that everybody has take an accountant or a specialist to do their taxes, so they know what to do to save you taxes.

For my part i had take two appointments with an accountant specialized in taxes. One appointment was to know what to do with my retro ( where to put it for having the maximum of it) and the other for my taxes.

I was well prepare for the tax impact, but it was writing in the cloud that we has to paid more taxs on it. I had already paid my taxes to be head clear of that ( It was my decision, not the accountant decision). IF i got a return i will be happy with it.

For me the important things is to close this story.............. But i had others story rolling..... so i try to close some to be head clear for the others.

Have a nice evening everybody Smile)

recon relax already he only made reference to what you willingly and publicly posted .

WE DO NOT ATTACK OTHER VETS ON THIS SIGHT! pardon the misspellings im like that.

coffetime you are partially correct any unused tax credits may have been a factor but two factors helped a little more from 08 on deemed tax were low 3 of the 5 years he lived in NFL the other 2 hurt.

the other is the Ontario years people in Ontario are a lot more likely to be helped by an 1198 than the rest of Canada due to the historically low tax rates and the recent increace in tax rates plus the addition of the 2 tiered tax system with the addition of a surtax now they are starting a weth tax but I digress . long story short people in Ontario will find the 1198 more helpful than the rest of Canada. everyone's tax situation is different part of that is the province you live in.

cofetime you are welcome here as all vets are stay strong and respectful buds.

always question authority

Hey guys I have been watching for a while now and why coffetime are you speculating for others help others don't tell them what they are going to get etc.  give factual info .. have you seen numbers yet  I have and what it looks like it works very good to be putting it over the years and yes  from the numbers I see are not paying the 40% tax if over the years making or claiming approx. 38000plus the retro two kids etc ...That is factual......over

Peep ..... your return is likely right ,your info is what I expect for most of us....I think Recon info (accurate also)  is likely based on the fact he has 6 dependants and a wife who hasn't worked during that time....With the deductions for 5 children and a wife, CRA likely located somewhere thru the last 12 yrs some annual error or a deduction that was missed .... After all, the different in total returned amount, was less than 1000 per yr. ( what was expecting initially  and what he is actually paying/receiving now)  Time will clear this all up ..... Rolling Eyes

yeah it sucks boys especially when I would owe like 700 grad in taxes!! So I have been calling people all morning ... I called CRA and used the pitty card to see if it worked but I told them I would not stop calling etc and made them stay on phone till they found something. I had an extremely nice agent on the phone the second time and she found it all ..After 1 hour they found it all looked at it and the cra agent was in shock !!!! they saw they never put in the decimal point where it should example acutual retro on one year is 10998.80 so they put in 109980.00 cool eh .. and carry that fourth in each year and you get point .. on the bright side seeing the huge retro numbers on my calculation sheet 2.4 millon spread out over 5 years taxes would only be 700 grad not to bad especially for you guys with big retro's it will help you guys for sure big time.. thank god on that ...anyway just wanted to let you all in on this hope you all have a great week end I need nap now..LOL

Checked the CRA internet site and it says I was assesed. It shows I owe $21,095! Or about 40% back of what I received. I do not see where the 1198 was used. Can't get through on the phones yet. This is bull s***

Hello there all just read this thread and as allways nice to see the passage of info to all and for sending out the pros and con ref our taxes and the t1198 and what has happen to some, so with the info posted I was able to inform my accountant of what might be happing based on what some have gone through and for them to stay on top of it for me. So to all I say thanks, and to Recon once again you have come threw for the betterment of all with 100% accuracy thats who you are and will always be, and honoured to hitch a ride. To all like Teen said take a deep breath as this to will pass it just going to take time, so all we can do is support each other and for me thats the what this site is about and it works. OH no my 2013 taxes are not done, entering week 7 and like most waiting, and for me either way it comes out should I get a refund based on the T1198 which I strongly believe I will, or if I dont as long as my return was done proper it will done either way, and thats all I can ask for. Take care all rucksack031 over but never out

oiler if I may suggest and if you are physically up for it, contact your local MP as Navrat did and maybe they can expedite this error quickly. It shouldn't be placed on your shoulder to do but sadly it seems you may have to be the advocate in this situation. Take care.
