Re: T1198 (Assorted Topics)
Thanks guys .........
We've used H & R Block since I was Medically Released in 2002 and every year since in Ontario 2002 - 2005 , back to Nfld 2005 - 2010 , and returning back to Ontario 2010 - 2014
H & R Block ...... 12 years running ..... $ 162.00 this year for a long return , I believe is cheaper than an Accountant at around $ 400 / $ 500
Maybe H & R Block tops their list to get done ..First ??? who knows ....... I'm not really sure

Koodos to H and R Block as well! I decided not to use H and R this year thinking my return was too complicated and better prepared by a specialized accounting firm and irony is CRA cant locate my return! Maybe I should have stayed with the Block this time as well. I am glad it worked out for you Recon.

Now that's really good to hear Mewfie.
Right now I owe $25,000 or 42% of the money I made back. Check everyday on the net, and its still not done. I am hoping the 1198 helps me. They told me the Request For Taxpayer Relief usually takes 7 months.

The 1198 was used in my Tax return. I went from owing $19000 plus when I paper filed to a refund of $7,948.28

Thanks Bigrex...exactly what I was told by my accountant who got the info from CRA. Dont pay until you get the official notice from them as they pay no interest on monies over what you owe.

Re: T1198 (Assorted Topics)
Puddle, you do not have to pay anything until you receive your notice of assessment. They cannot charge you interest if you are unaware of the exact amount owing, if any. It would be one thing if we didn't have to wait for the QLSRP forms to be processed, but as we have seen, that form can have a drastically different outcome than what our own calculations have come up with.
