Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
so when did file an application ,way before sept 20?Tilap61 wrote:Thèse guys are too funny.
Your application for Career Impact Allowance Supplement (CIAs)
is in Adjudication at Veterans Affairs Canada’s Head Office.
The standard turnaround time for CIAs is approximately 6 weeks.
In your case, the turnaround time started on 2018-09-20. However,
Adjudication is currently processing CIA claims dated March 2018.
We are tracking the progress of your claim and it will be processed
as soon as possible. You will be notified by mail when the decision
is complete.

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
I doubt it, but I honestly do not know for sure, since the CIAS will basically "not exist" next year. So therefor there has been no legislation or regulations that actually references what happens to the CIAS that was already approved.

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
Hi ya'll,
Has anyone heard if the CIAS is also going to be tax free in April 2019.
I haven't heard anything yet. I asked my CM but she had no idea if it was only the CIA portion that was going to be tax free or if the changes will be applied to both benefits.
Cheers,

Good morning,

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
@ tilap, I can't promise that the CIAS approval and CIA reassessment, won't take several months, but it shouldn't. After all, there is no real decisions that need to be made. They just need to see the DEC approval, and sign off on the additional financial support.

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
No. It's not possible to get CIAS without being declared DEC first.

I just got my DEC, I already received CIA at the lowest level so I just put in for CIA sup and an upgrade request for the CIA level. Are these upgrade take as long as the CIA request to be approve/ denied ? It took 9 months for my CIA to be approuved
