Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
Donnie,
If your on SISIP as stated, in order for you to get the 15% increase, you need to apply to VAC for ELB using the paper work sent to you from SISIP.
In other words, the 15% increase will be coming from VAC, SISIP is not increasing their benefits.
As far as the minimum goes, VAC will make that calculation based on the info provided to them, by you.
You can do all of this in MY VAC ACCOUNT, the turnaround is fairly quick.
Hope I answered you question.

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
I am sending my forms in today, was ill and couldn't do it when I got them 2 months ago. So without sifting through this thread I am currently getting 44k from sisip ltd and am only shy a couple hundred from the minimum that is stated in the vac letter that came with the forms. Will I also get a 15% increase if I don't have elb already. Sorry if this was asked already.

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
Proatre, in my case I applied in July 2016. Received a notice at end of August that I was approved. I then recieved my first payment mid October. It seems that the staff running the ELB do have their stuff together and complete ELB at an amazing pace considering how slow everything else is. Hope that helps you in a guideline. Just keep checking your my account on VAC, it will show up before a mailed lettter.

Are you asking how long it takes to get a decision , or how long before the money starts flowing after an approval? As far as a decision, they have their internal service standards, which I believe is sixteen weeks, but that is almost never actually met these days. As far as the money goes, once approved, the money normally starts flowing rather quickly, being deposited on the second last business day of the month, or month after, you were approved.

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
I receive 90% and the amount that I currently receive is more than 90% of my final years salary so it must include yearly increases of cost of living allowance.

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
I believe that you do not take 90% of your pay in 1996 , you take 90% of your pay with each yearly cost of living increase since 1996 to 2016 , so it would be good to get ELB as well because 90% might be more than the minimum.

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
Question....My last military paycheque was in 96 so of course, pay was a lot less back then. Can't quite remember...might have been 36K. So if I took 90% of that it would be 32400. Which would be considerably less than the minimum they give which is 44,496 .... So as I get the minimum already, I would suspect switching from SISIP to ELB would not benefit me financially. Am I right?

Re: Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB) Increase to 90%
Only if you are also on ELB as SISIP LTD is the first payer to top to 75% but ELB will be 15%.
