Re: Blaney to make statement today
What I don't understand about today's announcement was his answer about retro-activity of the ELB. He stated that there may be some, but they were waiting for the recommendations from Mr Toope. He has absolutely nothing to do with VAC and the ELB, but even if he did, the SISIP retro has already been agreed to, back to 1976 possibly, So why wouldn't VAC at least pay back to June 1st, when the SISIP clawbacks of active files was ceased, if not back to 2006, which is the farthest back they can go.

Re: Blaney to make statement today
I agree propat and really we are not that badly off.. DVA has been a wonderful help to us and my dh makes a decent income from his pensions... just the fact that they pay for wheelchairs and other supplies that go along with a spinal cord injury have been an incredible blessing.
I feel bad for some of the people whose stories have come out over the last while who are just above the 75% and aren't as well supported as we are. These seems to be a fair number of people who are in this boat and who really need this income. And some of them are in no shape to deal with this added burden.

Re: Blaney to make statement today
What it is, is a boatload of crap. I sit back and watch, hoping and preying that us ZERO SUM claimants are being looked after, instead we are getting royally shafted, but yet again. I have waited patiently, supported the class whole heartedly and when it comes to me, I am stepped on and over looked. Really McInnis Cooper has just added to the anxiety and stress of those most affected. Ya thanks a bunch. Enjoy filling out your forms boys and girls, here we go again fighting for ourselves, P.S don't forget to send some cash to the lawyers when you finish your leg work.

Re: Blaney to make statement today
So everyone else is getting their money this month, except the "zero-sum" people that somehow ended up being part of the negotiations... and now must do the footwork on their own to try to re-qualify. Seems profoundly unfair.
I am thrilled that Peter and his team have worked so hard to win this case and help so many. But it is hard to see those not even a part of the lawsuit benefit before the longest suffering of the class.
I would like to see the proxy system be put in place immediately to right this.
