F foundry, I also have funds put aside for my taxes, as I am sure I will owe, but even if you think you won't owe, I think it's still wise to be prepared.
We all have to pay taxes, there's no way of getting around that. Just keep in mind that the T1198 form, may work out for some, in helping to minimize the impact on our tax return, nothing to lose by submitting it, and perhaps something to lose by not submitting it.

Thanks for the info every one I will be sure to pass it on to my accountant and see if he can answer a few questions. I guess we will find out for sure once we have all filed our taxes what the fimal out come will be. I for one have prepared for the worst and do not want to get burnt buy being short of funds best of luck to you all.

in my letter to the judge I asked him for a letter from him to all class members in support of are request for tax relief forms due to the unfair nature of the QRLSP calculations pacifically the deemed tax however no such letters were issued.

Sparrow, the Judge did mention in his order, going back in years in which we would have received it, could lesson the impact for some members, the CRA , will do the calculations as per the info provided in the completed T1198 form Manulife, once the CRA has the T1198 , it is straight forward from there, no reassessment, so pretty straight forward, they will have all the information needed to do the calculations.

sparrow the form is pretty simple as the one you will recive should be already filled out so you shouldn't have to do much more than sign it.

the few peeps that actually do these calculations are very professional now having said that QRLSP calculations are not very common so they don't see a whole pile of these in a normal tax year. im thinking with an addition of approx. 7000 this will probably not be a normal tax year at least as far as these calculations are concerned and I have absolutely no idea how they will deal with this.
