Legal Fees (Assorted Topics)

Any resident of Canada who had to seek litigation to have income returned from employers can use the Legal Fees as a tax deduction on their return for the year the lump sum was received. This is Not Pension Income, but actually considered earned income and fully taxable.

So far I know that you put your Legal fees on line 232 and attach your Legal fee receipt to your 2013 tax return. I did some research on this last Week, and found out that qualifying for this is not cut and dry. Something about the type of pension involved with the Law suit. Has anyone been able to acknowledge, and or confirm our entitlement to this ?

than whats really there.

31. Class council shall not deduct or charge any legaql fees or disbursements on any increase or new monthly payments that were paid from June 2012, to date.

This means any interest we recieve from June 2012 to present will be free from legal fees and dispersements cost.

Am I reading this correctly??????

Cheers my brother. It's all good. Time to wrap this up and move along to greener pastures. Not ever leaving csat, but moving on with Sisip lawsuit and squabbling over the scraps. It's a done deal. Cant wait for the end game. Take it easy.

This Sisip fiasco cost me my family way back in 1989...lost every one and everything too. I am glad love found me again when I wasn't even looking. I now have a LOVING WIFE and two amazing children. This settlement will be a new start for me on many fronts. A bit of security and perhaps a hot tub for my broken body. Also a new start on Vancouver Island if I can stand the rainy winters. Hope this comes to a close soon.

Trooper, the above statement was not addressed to you, but we have all seen the bashing that some of us have endured for speaking out on any aspect of the settlement or legal fees. I just wanted it known that I will not be drawn into any such skirmish before they happen.
