Did they give any indication as to "how many" clients during this time period were botched up Sparrow?

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
Further to the tax slips amended - spoke with Sisip and was advised that the amended T4A & T5 are the amounts received for June to September 2012 (Refund by the Class Action) are were not included in the first slips received thus the amended slips.

LOL @ Nav.
Trooper, with your tax slip pointers above I was able to calculate that the amended T4A and T5 were quite close. One off by a few hundred dollars but there obviously must be a reason for that. The T1198 and the other T4A I will check tomorrow with accountant. Thanks very much.

As far as any overpayment, and or underpayment goes, I would send the following message to whoever is given the task of contacting me, of my amended retro amount.
Underpayment, thank you very much, much appreciated.
Overpayment, trooper has left the building, and no longer can be found.

As far as the audit goes, what ever happened to the Deloitte team that was looking over the processing of our retro, and suppose to be commencing the audit of each refund, when the last refund, of the main group, was delivered in Oct, 2013 ?
In other words I was under the understanding, that this audit started last Oct.

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
What to look for when matching your figures against your calculation sheet.
T4A, the amount should match Gross offset + Legal fees.
T4A, the amount should match tax Gross up.
T5, should match the interest portion of your calculation sheet.
T1198, Box (6850) should match the Gross offset + tax Gross up = Box (6850)
As long as they match close to those figures, that's good enough for me, if their off by to much well I would be question it.
They have a unique way of doing the calculations, however I am no expert in the way they do it, in my view as far as it relates to completing our taxes, well as long as the numbers are close, that is good enough for me, in other words, I do not think that a $100 over or under will make much of a difference in the outcome of our return, and we are not the ones responsible for filling out the slips, so if your figures are way off , yes that would be something to worry about.
That is just my opinion, and the above examples are of my opinion and my opinion only. So nothing concrete here, but perhaps some points to bring up, if one is questioning figures from their slips.

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
I just returned from Mexico yesterday so I had already sent my return in. I get the amended T4 and T5 so I call CRA , they said a readjustment will have to be done afterwards, then I call sisip and they say with all large settlements , involving a lot of people and money, mistakes do happen as these calculations are done manually . So Sisip told me they are human and are not responsible for any outcomes , overpayments or underpayments, as new information is continually coming into sisip ltd lawsuit department. It could have been new information regarding undeclared income from various sources or out right fraud. As its Sisip responsibliliaty to the GOC to be fully accountable so everything is always audited. Teen if I hear anything , anywhere, I will post but this info is only what was told to me so I really don't want to scare anyone or present false information. I got the amended T4 and T5 so that's why I demanded an explanation from Sisip.

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
Rex, I am going to go ahead here and speculate as to why I believe the reason is you have not received your slip, and or slips yet.
I think maybe once it was discovered that some slips were sent out with incorrect figures, a halt of all slips were ordered, and a recheck of all slips are being double checked to ensure that no more slips are to be sent out with incorrect figures.
I also think that the slips that were sent out, before it was discovered, that some slips were sent out with incorrect figures, these sent out slips would also have to be included in their recheck, as some are reporting receiving amended slips.
To me that would make sense, but again, it's just me speculating.
For those who have yet to submit their taxes, I strongly would advise that you ensure that your figures received from all your slips, match those figures from your calculation sheet received, when you received your retro.
For those who did submit your taxes, and did not confirm your figures from your slips, against your retro calculation sheet, I would advise you to pull out your copy of your submitted return, and do just that.

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
Yes bigrex, call asap. Thinking out loud here, this could really cause a jamming affect for those involved in amendments. Does not Manulife forward copies of T5s and T4s to CRA and if those people already have sent off their 2013 taxes without the amended T4A and T5 and CRA sees a disconnect with what was filed and what they have received then they could potentially set those returns aside for further inquiry thus preventing those with amended tax forms to proceed notwithstanding the T1198 process delays as well.. A solution could be to forward the amended forms to CRA. Just wondering.

Re: IMPORTANT INFO ON MANULIFE AMENDED T5 AND T4A
This is pretty bad, people are getting a second amended T4's from SISIP before I get my first one. Something is definitely not right here. I guess I'll be calling in the morning.
