The way I read it, is that they will look at what you have received up till now, under the NVC, and compare it to the increased amounts awarded for a 50% disability, and will send you a cheque for the balance. Basically, they are sending every lump sum recipient a cheque for the COLA, backdated to 2006, so that every injured Veteran will have been paid the same amount of money, regardless of when they were injured post 2006. I will agree that it is better than nothing, but it's a far cry from a monthly pension. and could actually bite some veterans on the backside if they are then required to pay that money back if and when they switch to monthly pension (even if forced to by the Equitas lawsuit).

Well PA gets nothing Rifleman. But you can expect a 15% or so check for your 50% NVC payment. Damn that is a huge jump in NVC buyout isn't it? And retro to 2006? What does this mean can be interpretted a couple of different ways and not a lot of them are positive outcomes.

Why was there no mention of the 2 health facilities?
Why is Permanent Impairment Allowance being changed to Career Impairment Allowance? Deception maybe?

As for the Last Post Fund lets just look at the numbers to prove it means nothing. We are losing 2000 WW2 vets a month. Thats 24000 a year. Multiply that by $35000 the amount is $84 million a year. But over 5 years the Libs budgeted $17 million. Odd? Not really because like I have stated before the "application rules" have to be changed so ALL vets can access the $35000. Useless throw in to the budget for vets but in the public's eyes it makes the Libs look veteran friendly.

As for the 10 new DO's it's another Liberals are vet friendly to the Canadian public. But I really hope we find out very soon if they are full DO's or satellite offices?

I searched the DND budget (typical Liberal treatment) and found nothing about LTD. So don't know if we in receipt of LTD will get the bump to 90%. So if anyone is on the Minister's facebook page could you ask him if we are going to get it? Thanks.

It's official now ALL politicians hate veterans

Rex the Equitas lawsuit is in no way whatsoever tied to the lifelong pension coming back.

Your COLA top up really is bang on. Never thought of it that way.

I'm wondering if the career whatever benefit will slice the pia. They will combine the pia and supplement? Who the frack knows? What about the pa guys , my career impact is profound , I'm not working because of a disability, this is crazy, what a let down , but but this is being splashed all over the media that the veterans are the big winners, at least Harper fracked us to our faces but this lying and betrayal right to us , I'm calling this the great JT / Kent 2016 Con job! I can honestly say us veterans got shafted and we are responsible for letting this government do it to us. Why do we always believe and follow orders!

Navrat I think it would be better if ALL veterans take this as a learning lesson.

From now on we have to make sure that when a politician makes a promise they show us the plan to keep the promise.

I think this is the best way to get real respect. Not this shallow mean nothing respect they tell the Canadian public they have for us.

Query

If the ELB is changing to 90%,

will LTD through SISIP be going the same route?

In the way of matching the 90% and without the 2% maximum annual limit.

Further to Puddleduk's query, will the difference from 75% to 90% mean that some could be collecting both LTD and ELB equaling 90%
