that's crazy Bruce, at least now you know the scoop. Its very sad that they couldn't just be straight up from the get go, in our case its a lousy 35 bucks that threw a wrench in the whole thing and caused unnecessary worry for my husband.

I found out yesterday that my DA top up payment has been in limbo, because of a $79 overpayment and that the retro has to be calculated manually.

VAC to client, you'll get your thousands, when we get our $79 bucks.

Needless to say I'm furious. VAC is so inept.

ya, it seems very crazy to me so hopefully this helps any others still waiting to understand why they are still waiting. It wasn't until today that one of the agents explained what a "more complicated" file was. why they couldn't have just said that to begin with is beyond me. The hubby doesn't deal well with "wait and see" and "be patient" as answers to direct questions and then it falls on me to deal with all the negative consequences of phone agents being flippant or under-informed.

That's correct VetWife,

I have an outstanding overpayment with VAC. Will the additional payment be used towards this overpayment?

It depends on each individual’s situation. In some cases, for example, those who have a repayment plan already established of less than two years will receive the additional payment. In other situations, this payment may be used to reduce your overpayment. You will receive a letter explaining how the overpayment will be applied.

It's pretty ridiculous they can't give us straight answer. I've been trying to be patient, but I'm starting to get pissed off. The added stress is completely unnecessary. Figure it out and get on with it.

still waiting here too, my husband doesn't deal well with waiting and unknown/unanswered questions. I have called VAC to request and update and the agents don't know anything... I last called on Friday (since my online request from April 06 is still unanswered) and the lady had the gall to tell me its only 18% so its not a big deal...I know its only 18% but that's not the point, point is we would like an answer and should be given one. good grief.
