I'm at 104%, and I only get level two. I am hoping that with the change to CIA it becomes easier to get higher up on the grade levels. I am surprised I even got level two to be honest.
I hear stories like that and it scares me. I have a family I am providing for financially... Pretty much the only thing I am good for now with my issues. So a story like that makes me think I don't stand a chance of SISIP beyond two years.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
Thing is tho, ELB/SISIP to 65 = TPI.
CPPD = TPI
Problem is getting VAC to go along with common sense.
The reason I say that CPPD/SISIP/ELB are TPI is that they were considered "proxies" for SISIP LTD to age 65 in the Manuge class action.
I used to be a teacher:
A = B: ELB to age 65 = SISIP to age 65
Therefore B = A: SISIP = ELB
CPPD = SISIP
Therefore SISIP = CPPD
A = B: ELB = SISIP
B = C: SISIP = CPPD
A = C: CPPD = ELB
ELB's TPI = SISIP's Totally Disabled
Therefore SISIP's Totally Disabled = ELB TPI
TPI = PIA/PIAS
PIA/PIAS = TPI
All that math... ☺
Inspired by vet I'm trying to help assessed at 102% but only getting PIA grade 3 & 20% pension; VAC cancelled her ELB despite 2 years on SISIP followed by 2 years of ELB (& they won't grant her TPI so her ELB will last to age 65!)
Bastards.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
I applied for PIA last December, figured a Med/Psych assessment would be ordered. They submitted my app without a current one (within 2 years) as mine was 3 years old. They denied it because there was no current assessment....
I called VAC multiple times during the 4 months it took to get denied and all they could say was it was being processed. They wouldnt tell me what was on the application and what information was needed. VAC collected it and submitted it without letting me in the loop as to what was needed or what my app contained.
I recommend that anyone that applies for PIA/S to make sure their medical is current and don't trust that they are submitting all the paperwork needed.
I'm re-applying and then when I'm approved.... ( very confident, my psych said he would make it very clear that I'm not working again.. permanent/chronic/severe)
I'll be appealing the assessment date and asking for it to be retro to the first app, since they didnt collect the needed information to process it.
* thanks to BigRex for the advice

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
Hiya Rigger. There really is a method to the madness. On the bottom of the pia application it asks you if you also wish to apply for the pia/s. Read the form. "YOU MUST BE DEEMED TPI TO APPLY FOR THE PIA/S." It kills 2 birds with one stone if you are approved TPI but you don't need it for the pia only. Why go through two seperate applications and waiting periods instead of one?
And your cm does have the authority to approve you TPI. I got that before my pia and pia/s app. and approvals. Like Panser mentioned, V. important, get an O/T and/or any specialist report for whatever condition your applying for the P's... I was denied initially because I did not do that.
Hope it's not too confusing.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
As firebird mentioned the PIA and PIAS, you should already have an application in for the PIA. The PIAS can be applied for at the same time but without the TPI designation it will not be approved. At least get your PIA money rolling in now.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
TPI is next and very important as it can also get you PIA and PIA /S. There is a class action lawsuit for ELB , VAC was deducting the monthly VAC pension from ELB just like SISIP was with LTD.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
What exactly are you waiting for from VAC?
If all you are waiting for is TPI you need to go through your case manager. The case manager will hold a meeting usually within a three week time frame. This meeting is between the case manager and doctors but the decision for TPI is up to your case manager.
I am currently going through the process. They held their meeting already but required that I see an occupational therapist and my psychiatrist before they would make a decision.

Re: Finally got the last of paperwork in for elb/tpi AGAIN
YOUR the one who had their tpi yanked? I couldn't recall who it was rigger but non-compliance would be a real pdq shortcut to that end. You should do it for your own benefit though.
But I think I may understand your reluctance, at least for elb. In my case, VAC got canvet who got March of Dimes shrinks to run a 2 day mental marathon on me (for vocational purposes). Not nice.
Consolation was they were at least civies and they only did it once.
Not sure if that's your sit. but I don't see any reason why you couldn't have someone possibly to accompany you if it is.
Get it done rigger...

Post by 23223 on Wed 11 Mar 2009, 09:43
who can i contact to help me organize my very large pile of V.A.C paper work,i am at the end of my rope,i dont know what to do anymore,they just dont care, i have been fighting them ever since i couldnt suck it up any more,and when i finally hit my 20 yr mark,i started applying for benefits, im only trying to get the benefets i need to stay alive...i am a vet i guess, medically released after 23ish yrs of service,did my job to the very best of my ability,and i am proud i may have made some small difference to the world and to canada
i feel as if i have failed ,they make it so hard and i dont trust them
TODAY:11:47 2016
Finally got the nerve to ask/beg for elb/tpi ,as they just took it away in 2011 because i didnt give good enough reason not to go through a medical torture test which would have set me back way to far in my recovery (5 pensioned conditions,4 causing extreme chronic pain)
so now its 2016 and i hope i am not screwed out of a benefit again because of a pissed off vac cm ,because i still dont trust the arse-holes
i need help
