Once again. Wait time will not be an issue. As soon as they gather all the evidence: 16 weeks for the decision:)

Yes thankfully they will back pay it but just wanted to remind people there will likely be a delay in receiving it as I think some are anticipating an increase arriving in Oct.

As long as there is backpay they can keep their money until the New Years. Although I am sure a lot of people could use the extra for the holiday season.

I forecast a delay in getting the increase into your accounts particularly for those who have to fill in the worksheet and return to dva. The staff have to then go through each worksheet individually and do the calculations and that is going to take some time particularly with staffing issues that is plagued in dva. So I predict that if you are entitled to an increase that you may not see it until the new year. I hope I am wrong but historically that has been the scenario.

If you are not currently getting the minimum, then you are not going to get it after next month. So now you will get the same amount from SISIP, 15% from ELB, CPP(D), PIA and your PA pension.

ya cdn vet you will be entitled to the increase not having the 2006 pay tables on hand its really hard to say with complete certainty if the minimum amount will effect you due to pay raises in 09 retroed to 08 and another I believe in 2013 I'm guessing it will but what the effect will be I cant honestly say without those pay rates .
out of the incomes you listed CPPD and LTD are the ones they will deduct .

Trying to make sense of the ELB increase.
I am EELB and on LTD presently. Will I be entitled to the ELB increase? If I am entitled, what deductions will DVA be asking about in the form letter next month? I receive CppD, LTD, PIA and DVA monthly (receive no military pension). Wondering which of those amounts are taken into account when doing the ELB increase calculations. I was med released 2006 as a 1st year Cpl so don't know about the minimum base amount that is being discussed above and how it may affect me. I did receive the DVA letter regarding the ELB increase.
Thanks

Ok, I think what they are talking about is by applying 2x, is they had to apply for SISIP, and now being told they have to apply for ELB, versus those who only applied for ELB. They are under the impression that if you are on SISIP, that ELB should automatically give you the top up, which just isn't going to happen. The best they can hope for is that their applications get fast tracked, by skipping the need to be approved for the rehab program, or be deemed TPI.

I'm not sure what facebook page you are referring to, but VAC has stated that anyone on extended SISIP, who has already been deemed TPI and approved for EELB, would receive the increase from ELB. Now, If you had been on short term ELB, at some point since 2006, or were denied ELB, you would have to reapply in order to get the top up.

Sorry bigrex but what you just wrote went way over my head.
What do you make of the facebook page that says those on LTD have to reapply for ELB?

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
If you are not getting the minimum ELB now, you will not be getting the minimum after next month. Even if you were getting $43000, just above the minimum, the new equations would put you at over $51000. The only people who will be stuck at the minimum will be those whose 90% of pre-release pay is still less than $44500. So even if someone has been on ELB, and their 75% mark was say only $40000, and have been receiving the top up, 90% of that same pre-release salary is $48000, so that person should get a $6000 per year increase.

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
Wow seashell that is a game changer.
In the letter from DVA it states:
increasing the Earnings Loss Benefit from 75% to 90% of recipient's adjusted military salary at the time of release, resulting in a minimum total annual income of $44,496.00 including income from other sources.
So if the minimum total annual income of $44,496.00 is a capped amount then that changes many people's scenario's. The letter from DVA is misleading then because it should have stated a maximum total income of $44,496.00 not minimum.

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
Just read on Facebook page of the Sisip Class Action Lawsuit the following quotes regarding the ELB increase.
"Those jerks, SISIP vets have to apply 2x to get the same benefit as VAC vets with 1 application" followed by another person's response "yes that was explained to me 1 hr ago by VAC".
Then another post asks "so my husband is completely under the old charter, monthly payments, DND pension, CPPD and Sisip. Does this ELB increase totally exclude him now, or does he start over applying for this 12 years later".
Someone answered with the following response "I am in the same boat, he will need to apply".
So can anyone explain what this may means? Does it mean if someone is on LTD that they have to apply for the increase by reapplying for ELB and back to square one again? What if you are on EELB do you have to reapply for ELB again?
