My friend . All things have an Alpha and Omega, a beginning and an end. Hopefully the day insurance companies run government programs are also coming to an end.

One question I have is, will this top up cease when SISIP ends? Because if you are on SISIP already, your SISIP could be cut off before even getting approved, or even accepted as a VAC client.

Here us the latest on Sisip ltd getting the 90%
Called today VA in regards of the post on Sisip web site,
Here is what is posted:

Called VA, they said that they sent letters to those who are concerned. After telling her that I was Sisip Ltd, was on the rehab program that closed and got the letter fron VA saying I'm totally invalid, she said I should have received a letter but there is a glitch that made that no letter for me. She is asking Charlottetown to reviw my file as it seems they are not aware that I was on Sisip.
Called friends in the same situation, no letters. If I didn't call, to bad, I wouldn't receive anything.
Why is it that we always have to ask for things that should work by itself!!!

Sea Shell you certainly have a way with words! I understand the difference now between ELB and EELB. Cheers

Elgin , I believe it means we're good for nothing and here's your silver and call us at 65 , hopefully if we all make it that long! ELB I believe means get your butt out to work even if you have to crawl and breath thru a straw! Don't call us unless it regards the last post fund or unless you want a signed photo of Sunny Skies forever and ever Trudeau aka the veterans best friend!

Thanks everyone for your input. I guess I will wait and see what comes out of all of this in Oct/Nov.
Sea Shell, I called dva and they confirmed that I am EELB. I know that it stands for Extended ELB but what exactly does that entail? Thanks again.

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
I would like to weight in giving my opinion on this issue, first I'm in agreement with what Rex and Teen has stated in not getting to overwhelmed with worry on what is being said in your My VAC Account. Continuing to discuss it and ask questions is fine because that's what we stand for on CSAT. I just don't want people getting to upset at all the mix answers their getting, the only way to know for sure is to see your actual change in your Oct pay, if it applies to you. This regarding the 15% increase to the ELB. Regarding the 15% increase to SISIP, again, the message is mixed. We need to hear from the MND or Manulife themselves to confirm whether or not they will follow the same changes to the ELB. I'm not suggesting for one minute that what is being said or suggested by anyone is not true, what I'm suggesting is to wait for clarification from the policy holder before we can say for certain that is indeed the case. We've all been down this road before where things were not, what we thought they were, that's what happens when those in charge are not forthcoming on what the hell it is their doing. Sending out a message to your My VAC Account without properly informing those answering the phones to answer questions on that particular message, just adds to the confusion and also adds to speculation. I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be a hell of a lot of secrecy surrounding the Liberals on our file, their all over the map praising the re opening of the offices, given out commendations, but yet when it comes to fully explaining implementation of benefits, they somehow seem to vanish from the scene. Could this be because only the bureaucrats understand it, and our Minister doesn't? Either way, regardless of the outcome of what is coming, we will unite as always and deal with any disagreements we have on what exactly they bring forward. It looks like we are going to have to get use to this type of way the government is moving on our file, I say our file is being fully run by the bureaucrats, and that is why we don't get the answers, were asking.

See, things like that are why it is useless trying to get answers from VAC front line staff. These people are good for telling you the status of an application, pr requesting paperwork, but have no clue about the details of the benefits that are offered. ELB no longer deducts any other VAC benefits.
Below are all the deductions that are made from ELB
22 The following sources are prescribed for the purpose of the amount of variable B in subsection 19(1) of the Act:
(a) [Repealed, SOR/2012-195, s. 1]
(b) benefits payable under the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act, the Public Service Superannuation Act or the Employment Insurance Act;
(c) benefits payable under the Canada Pension Plan or the Act Respecting the Québec Pension Plan other than amounts payable for a dependent child;
(d) benefits payable under any employer-sponsored long-term disability insurance plan;
(e) benefits payable in respect of economic loss under the Government Employees Compensation Act or any provincial workers’ compensation legislation;
(f) amounts payable in respect of economic loss arising from legal liability to pay damages;
(g) amounts payable under an employer pension plan;
(h) employment earnings payable while the veteran is not participating in a rehabilitation plan or vocational assistance plan developed by the Minister or where the veteran is participating in such a plan and the sum of the earnings loss payable for a month plus the employment earnings for the month exceeds the veteran’s imputed income; and
(i) 50% of employment earnings payable while the veteran is participating in a rehabilitation plan or vocational assistance plan developed by the Minister so long as the sum of the earnings loss payable for a month plus the employment earnings for the month does not exceed the veteran’s imputed income.

Elgin and all I know this is a crazy time and VAC is doing what VAC always does....
release info without details and full explanations which causes stress.
All I can say is try, I know it will be hard but try, to relax and wait until the letter from VAC in October comes. Hopefully it will have better details.

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
Since eia is a pa payment how can vac subtract that from the ELB ? That's what the lawsuit took care of! Sisip LTd doesn't subtract eia or aa ? Eelb is extended earnings loss benefit its when Vac says you have no reasonable hope of training nor work and thus get this benefit extended to age 65 . It's like tpi!

I don't see a victory in denying without reason or oversight. It would just lead to a massive flood of appeals.

Re: Will SISIP follow VAC's 15% increase to the ELB?
Hi Sea Shell, I was approved ELB. Not sure what EELB is so quite certain I am not on that. How does one go from ELB to EELB? The dva agent was quite clear that my EIA and LTD combined would disqualify me from getting the 15% increase.
