One last thing...
For those in the reassessment process, if the veteran is denied a tier increase. Is this where it ends or is the vet entitled to appeal, 1,2nd and/or use the Bureau of pension advocates if they feel there is an error in VAC s judgment?

Well, lots of good advice and info here. I will wait for a reassessment and then post the results here. Thanks again.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
Here is a list which is posted on VAC MyVACAccount Website. I do not know for certain if they actually track APSC because mine was automatically switched from the CIA to the APSC 01 Apr 2019. I applied for the APSC Reassessment and was told they don't track the Reassessment
Please note: We currently provide tracking information for the following programs;
• Additional Pain and Suffering Compensation
• Career Impact Allowance
• Career Transition Services
• Caregiver Recognition Benefit
• Critical Injury Benefit
• Disability Benefits (Pain and Suffering Compensation/Disability Pension)
• Earning Loss
• Education and Training Benefit
• Family Caregiver Relief Benefit
• Income Replacement Benefit for Veterans
• Health Benefits Program (PSHCP)
• Priority Hiring – Medical release attributable to service determination
• Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Programs for Veterans
• Veterans Independence Program

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
what’s posted on the my vac site and real time are two different animals, even before COVID a posted 16 week turn around was more like 15 months, now they get to blame the virus and can add another 6 months to wait times and no one can bitch at them because they just shrug their shoulders and say “ blame the plague”, even BPA is backed up. Bright side , if there is one, is that if your reassessment then is successful you’re probably looking at $9000 in back pay. I have all the same acronyms you listed above and my application is probably sept. So let’s just wait and see what happens and post it here, VAC is so muddled right now l wouldn’t be surprised if you get a response before me even though l “should “ be ahead of you in the queAirLog wrote:Incredible! I am DEC, APSC level 3, IRB, VIP, etc. So now a reassessment is a one to two year wait. Still can't believe it. When you look at wait times, it indicates 9 weeks for Exceptional Incapacity Allowance (pension act). This is roughly the same program as APSC. Yet, they only have a 9 week wait for an answer.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
CM told me her client had applied in Jan 2020- and was approved end of September for 1st time ASPC.
Apparently according to her contact at VAC they wanted to work on backlog of 1st time applications vs reassessments in case there was financial struggles for a veteran.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
Thanks for the insight Riddick. Much appreciated. I was going to ask VAC this very question but, now I will hold off. You do say that VAC claims they only track the APSC but, I don't see anywhere a wait time for APSC.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
[quote="AirLog"]Does anyone know if APSC Grade Reassessment show up on My VAC Account under "Track Your Applications?" Also, I can't find APSC Grade Reassessment under "Wait Times." Is there an average wait time for this category?
VAC claim they only track the APSC, not the Reassessment component as it is a separate application (this was also confirmed to me via MyVACAccount) and does not show up under wait times either. "All assessments and applications are completed in chronological order."
So most will be waiting over 12 months.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
Yep, reassessment only. He is DEC, Caregiver Benefit and in VAC 110% total disability... Still waiting. If the poster before him waited 77 weeks I can only assume we are the same so likely start of June.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
cookie2007,
Your husband requested a reassessment of his APSC in Feb 2020 and you don't expect an answer until at least June 2021. Incredible. Isn't APSC application or a reassessment suppose to be done quickly so that a vet can have these much need financial benefits in a timely manner. This doesn't make sense. If a vet is already approved for APSC and their medical situation deteriorates then the reassessment should be looked at right away and a decision rendered. Not very good.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
Airlog it won't get posted. My husbands application went to adjudication in Feb 2020.. We are expecting it will be there till at least June next year and it still hasn't shown up on applications- so I am assuming it won't.

Re: REASSESSMENT REQUEST OF CIA LEVEL
all my disability claims over the last few years took about 2 years to get answered in assuming the same for my APSC, but I’m getting by, l live frugal, l feel bad for those vets counting on this money. VAC doesn’t understand that when the Legion or a Veteran organization locates an ex soldier down in their luck, and tells them, they are entitled to this or that, ...but the wait is 18 months, that’s an eternity. But until the back log is cleared , it is what it is.AirLog wrote:I shall post the results of my APSC reassessment request as I have done with past requests. Hopefully it doesn't take 77 weeks. All the best.
