Hi Ladies and Gentlemen and Merry Christmas
Of course I am in Contact with peter, Dan, and Ward (our legal team)

I am well aware of the settlement (in it's entirety) and have remained in contact with our legal team over the entire process. That is my role.

Do I wish things moved faster, for sure, but in perspective, which I agree is frustrating to disabled vets and their families, this process has moved very quickly, compared to other cases of this magnitude.

I am very happy with the entire settlement and when you folks are able to view it, shortly, you can finally decide for yourselves.

The gag was not put in place to frustrate you on purpose, it was put in place to protect us all, including both sides of the negotiation process. That is very hard to understand for most, and I recognize that, however, it is the way things are done on this level.

I spoke to Peter on x-mas eve and the three of them (legal team) were still working hard, via technology, from their homes, to get all the necessary paper work ready for court and to release the proposed settlement to the class.

Again, not many have had the opportunity to meet and sit with our team. I have for six years, and I trust these gents with my life and yours.

As for the criticisms and banter, speculation, etc..anytime an individual puts themselves "out there" there will be those who don't like, disagree, etc...

I would not have made it this far with out big shoulders and tough skin, but for me the frustrating thing is very few know me personally, you are judging on what you see in a chat room, basically. I have not felt your pain and lived your lives and you have not felt my pain or walked in my shoes, so there is nothing I can say or do to change some peoples minds about what we achieved and how we achieved it on your behalf. We all knew this going in.

I am human, a disabled vet, and I make mistakes and have strengths and weaknesses like all humans. The best thing I ever did is stop taking peoples bait and stay away from the back and forth, except when there were outright lies and misinformation being spread on this sight. Either about me or about the case and or our legal team. I stand by that.

Just as I know people will respond to this post.

Most of the class and the group of disabled vets positvely impacted by the end of the ELB clawback do not know the whole process, what a rep plaintiff even is, what the role is, etc, but most of that information is available online.

However, when you put yourself in the role, you are not prepared for what follows, good and bad. There is no handbook, there is no road map, just a team of really good and professional lawyers to assist you with the process.

Those that think I have in some way "sold out the class" will likely never be swayed and they will continue to have the negative perceptions of me and this process. Nothing I can do will change that and that is ok by me. I nevr started this to make friends, only to change something that was wrong and illegal and to make sure that vets who came after us, did not have to endure what most of us have endured by the hands of DND, SISIP, VAC, etc...

That certainly does not make me a saint or "hero". That just makes me someone who wanted to change something. And we did. We fought the law and we won.

As for wanting attention or media coverage etc...well my role was to keep this issue in the spotlight over the course of the last 9 years, last 6 while the case was before the courts and that I achieved. I cannot count the trips to Ottawa, the press conferences, the interviews, the phone calls, e-mails etc from other vets and the media...it has been intrusive at times, rewarding at times, and validating at times. What comes with that is opinions on wo and what I am and about, that individuals get a snippet of a view into who I am. Certainly not the whole story.

I am a stay at home dad to a beautiful little girl, who will be two years old on January 3rd, 2013. Mekelle has brought so much joy into my life, That is why I laugh when people call me a psychopath on here. Come spend a day with Mekelle and I, then judge, if you must. Tracy, my wife has sacrificed more than me. I have taken phone calls in the middle of the night, at all times of day, taken the time to e-mail vets back, call them back, feel their pain and frustration and that in turn had an impact on me emotionally and physically, which has at times limited my ability to contribute to her as a husband and a life partner.

I have two Labs, Zoe and Lily. I spend time walking with them in the woods behind my home (a mini home) not a mansion in the upper echelon of society. I live three hundred feet from my parents, who are both in their mid 80's, so i support them as best I can. My father is a Naval veteran of WWII, allthough he was to young to see the really bad stuff early in the war.

I am a home body that ventures out to medical appointments and a few social activities with non-veteran friends from my community. I have coached basketball both while serving in Petwawa, (not Halifax as some here seem to think I was posted here and a "bin rat" who never went anywhere or did anything.) I ahve used my Labs as Pet therapy dogs visiting primarily, inmates and those suffering from severe and persistent mental illness.

I gave allot of my life and time to assist in the production of "Broken Soldiers" a documentary exposing some of the major issues facing veterans, that won the best documentary award at the Brantford Film festival this past fall.

I have sought out a complete health care team to help me. Including psychology, psychiatry, physio, massage therapy, osteopathy, a GP, and pain specialists, as well as Chiropractic. I found them, they did not find me.

All this to say I am a normal Joe Canadian. I am a disabled vet (broken back) and (major depressive disorder with anxiety). There are those that have expressed if I can be on here and type or respond then I am well enough to work outside my home and I am ripping off VAc etc...this from individuals who have never seen me, or felt me pain on a daily and continuous basis. But they sit back and criticize and judge me only on what I express on here. Have I been angry? Yes, have I expressed frustration and anger on here? yes? Many have, but I am some how supposed to be immune from human emotion, even when others are posting with my initials and then people are criticizing me for those posts. And for defending myself and my name. I wonder what others would do if in same situation.

I am who and what I am. I have a personality just like all of you. I am blunt, straight forward and confrontational at times. I use foul language when I speak and write, because I spent 9.5 years in the army as a vehicle tech, not a bin rat. My last posting before release was at 3RCR in petawawa, where I did a tour in Bosnia in 2001. My accident happened in Canada at 3 RCR in October of 2000. I fell off a grizzly on the shop floor at the unit. I was not injured overseas. I served from August 1994 until Dec 2003. I left Pet for North Bay where I graduated with honours and at the top of my class from Canadore College in 2005 with a diploma in mental health and addictions.

I tried to re-enter the civilian work force in health care (specifically mental health support) and worked both in the community in a psych hospital and then finally as and Occupational Therapy Assistant at the East Coast Forensic Psych Hospital. In 2007, my chronic pain and mental health started to deteriorate due to my own conditions and due to the weight and pressure of the SISIP Case and Class Action.

I have not worked since 2010. I tried and failed at that.

All this to say this is some facts about who I am. I more then any of you cannot wait until this SISIp class is over because I want to be daddy and Dennis the husband, son, uncle, brother, etc...not Dennis the SISIP Rep Plaintiff.

I wish all of you a happy new year and an exciting and worthwhile 2013. This year will change your and your families lives for the better.

I hope many come to the final SISIP court dates in february. I'd love to see you and meet you there.

God Bless
Dennis Manuge

You will see nearly 90% of the amount raw amount in your account! Some will get slightly less because the interest calculations will be less.
Example:
$10000.00 owed for 10yrs
-2000.00 legal fees
-1700.00 Taxes will very..legal fees deducted
+ 2000.00 compounded interest over 10 yrs
+ 700.00 cost of living increases
= 9000.00 in our pockets 90%

I am making a trip to Hamilton in April if I am wrong you can kick me in the butt!

The difference between Denis and us is slim, he knows more, he is giving all is thrust in McInnes Cooper, the difference is that he is bound by the Gag order to and knows what is the deal and just can't talk about it, this is why it must be frustrating for him to read what is written here, but at the same time, he is not in our shoes and this is frustrating for us. But luckily for him and us, we will all be on the same level when we get the offer, then we will both be in the same shoes. I lift my hat to him to have to handle all this all these years.

Chears, Patrick.

Froggie, to be honest, I really don't understand the legal reasons for the gag order that is in place. If someone on csat could explain why there is a gag order please advise. Take care Froggie, Sparrow

Froggie, as the lead plaintiff, I would only assume that Mr. Manuage has been apprised of the status of the case through every twist and turn and is definitely not in the dark. Sparrow

Do you think Dennis Manuge knows what Peter knows? Is he in the dark like the rest of the veterans?
