Is there no way that most, if not all of our returned claw-back, be back dated to the year entitled and deposited as income into an RRSP. It is being considered as income being subject to tax at source. At least a 30 percent contrubution should be allowed. I guess it is something else to take up with CCRA.

When I run the numbers, as given, I come out breaking even, not 'with interest'.

I accept the deal, but I just want you to know that I am not pleased that I am getting a 2003 dollar back at a 2012 rate.

$1 in 2003 = $1.25 today,
$1 in 2004 = $1.21 today,
$1 in 2005 = $1.17 today,
$1 in 2006 = $1.14 today,
$1 in 2007 = $1.11 today,
$1 in 2008 = $1.06 today,
$1 in 2009 = $1.07 today,
$1 in 2010 = $1.05 today,
$1 in 2011 = $1.02 today, and;
$1 in 2012 = $1.00 today.

So, as the settlement goes, I get $10 back, as I see it, I SHOULD get $11.08 back, but I'm not, and the Government of Canada knows this, Steven Harper knows this, Peter MacKay knows this, and every other elected official knows this, and every bureaucrat knows this, and they are ALL knowingly screwing us.

I will now 'go scratch my ass and get happy".

Tracker, I respect and appreciate what you are saying, that is why we went from 30% to 7.5% of the overall amount recovered, and it being paid out of the refund on a one time basis at 15%. Again the Court has the final say. All the best.

I will be back on the forum sometime tomorrow. Please feel free to email questions to address (it is easier than scrolling through the forum.)

Peter ... i understand that it is the fairest way for you to apply the refund.

What bothers me is that in principle we are having a percentage taken from our going forward payments. What I personally would have been perfectly fine with is if the firm would have said "These Vets have been through enough. Why don't we just take a percentage of the retro we got back for them and leave their future montly payments alone".
