Class Members, we will be posting two calculation examples later today based on a two year SISIP LTD retro payment and a "zero sum" refund payment to assist with your calculations. This will not include income tax as it must be assessed individually.

So could we end up losing 15% to legal fees and then lose another 7.5% off our SISIP payments up until we reach the age of 65????????????

Yes, our fee asked is based on 7.5% of all monies achieved for the class as per the original contract. However, the manner in which we are proposing to be paid is out of the refunds is a one time payment of 15% rather than deducting 7.5% from refunds and future payments.

Peter, (i hope you are still there)
I have a question about the fee's and the statement in Para 3 of your initilal post on here. You say you are asking for only 7.5%,on the overall amount (887M). You suggest that taking 15% plus 2.5% out of our retro is the best way to do this correct? Does this mean that our future monthly payments have been factored into this equation and you are taking a percentage of those as well (since you used the words "prospective payments to 65" in para 3?)

if the interest is done as maggie sudjested we are close but not made financially whole due to the extra tax and loss of interest gone to leagal fees.if we can find a way to eliminate the extra tax we will be made financially whole exept the loss of interest witch will go to leagal fees witch are fair in my oppinion. is this a fair statment ore am i way off with this assesment?

looking forward to an example worksheet if the interest is calculated on a year for year bacis as maggie sudjested and not just a flat rate per bracket the interest part will look much better at least as far as im concerned.no way of telling right now without looking at a sample work sheet.the tax penelties by whatever name you want to call them deemed tax, extra tax, penelties ore tax interest will still be a concern for moast.

Yes, I believe they have helped clarify many facts of the case. Thank you for taking the time to do so. And please make it a consideration to include access to the legal assistance certificate for veterans to appeal decisions at the VRAB. Regards, Sparrow
