Peep VS the one-sided illogical giant SISIP

VAC turned me down for ELB twice, because SISIP is the first payer and at sometime in the past, SISIP gave them the impression I am covered. Anather vicious circle by SISIP.
I meet with VAC next week on PIA, but have a feeling I need ELB for it. Again the vicious circle.

Some people think sisip is great and just doing their job, but they are an insurance company hired to maxmize profit, they are not your friend, sorry peeps, but Vvi probably covers 10 percent of the veterans out there, imagine all the other sisip stories not yet heard

Since my return of cognition a few months ago I became aware of this site. It lead me to phone SISIP Manulife and try to get some answers. Each time I phoned I got someone new. One of the first things I did was update my mailing info. To my surprise I had to repeat my new address since the computer still showed my old address???? I was told that my file was closed. Then told it was closed because if was not responding to some letters and that I was living in Texas. Never went their since I have been out. Then after a Vet on this forum gave me his CM's number, I was told by that CM I was zero summed. The pressure was finally off. But the ball was rolling and I do not know how long I will last, I seem to be starting to loose the brain functions again. So I charged ahead for my wife and fellow Vets.

I produced an Appeal, which was recommended to me by a friends CM. A sure thing if I have proof. My appeal included release medicals, numerous MRI's comments from a Dr, psychiatrist, phycologist, pediatrist, physiatrist and a letter sent directly to SISIP from my Neurologist with comments covering the last four years (since I have been released) and stating how bad I am now as well as…….well the not so nice endings. Two CM's even helped me words some of the statements.

My time was well accounted for, for the past 4 years and affidavits were offered from my family/caretakers to confirm that no correspondence was ever delivered from SISIP.

All I had to do was prove I did not receive any letters and was not in Texas. That was easy and just to complete things I also included several documents, statements and even had a statement send directly from my specialist. Had Peter review the paperwork and he was pleased.

Submission to SISIP with copy sent to my CM and Peter/Krinstene

Calling SISIP to talk to my CM I was told that I now had a different CM. I was told that its common that files are opened under multiple CM's because some files are opened under SIN#'s and then reopened under SERVICE#'s and so own. So I emailed a copy to my new CM, waited for a few hours and phoned. My recent CM just plainly informed me it was an appeal and she refused to read it. To go and talk to the Case Manager. I asked her the status of my case and she said, un..ah, its closed (in 3 seconds) then hung up. I had never given her any information on me yet.

The next day I received an email from the Case Manager Mrs XXXXX and she bluntly told me the paperwork was not required as it was deemed in Dec 2011 I was not disabled and my file was closed. I have responded pass the 12 month appeal time and its to late.

What!!!!

They never have wrote me, i am still not confident if they have my current address, and they will not talk to me or read my appeal. THEY WILL NOT READ MY APPEAL! Just go away.

And what is worse is I told them the start time of my CCP (D) pension, and they simply gave me a closed file time with one month separation in time to prevent Peter from getting involved! Odd the date corresponds to the time they hauled me back to the hospital and cut out two right ribs and one left rib to allow blood flow to my arms. Not in Texas!!!

This is outrageous, they have no proof nor do they intent on reading my file, hearing from me or offering me any proof of correspondence.

I am done for in this one-sided battle for justification. And what is worse…….

Mrs XXXXX. I almost fainted when I heard her name. This is the same person that refused every claim for Spousal disability. If you remember SISIP came out with a costly pension plan for spousal disability. When working in ADM MAT we had two wives, one with bad cancer and one hit by a car. In both cases she denied their claims. I went to the XO (Maj Gen) and he personally said he would go up and get them approved. At the time of my 3B release none in the CF had ever had a successful claim. NO ONE! She used every trick including hiring private Dr's to reassess and disprove.

Peter you have your hands full. The only one able to overturn Mrs XXXXX is the SISIP President who is now fired.

Sorry but this put me back into a deep depression. Thanks Peter for telling me to hang tight.

Wish they would produce a copy for the letter closing my file, but since its closed, they do not need to. I do not exist. 27 years of payments means nothing.
