Well policy is policy as written, they had more than a year to publish the policy.
So I would say that the policy itself is not under development, simply because it is now published, but the reassessing of clients to change levels, not the CIA levels, but the change in terms of now qualifying for the CIAS, would take time to process, I would think.
I could be wrong, but my initial assessment does not show much of a change in terms of improvements.
We will see.

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
I don't see anything new in the policy...
Looks like they just replaced PIA with CIA to me.
I don't see anything about years of service either

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
Looking at that info from VAC/minimum info and at the beginning it says that TPI changes to DEC
diminished earning capacity and then .. how do you qualify? Do I qualify?
You may qualify if you have:
a severe and permanent impairment for which you have received a disability benefit, and
a VAC-approved application for rehabilitation services.
Looks to me that if will be even more difficult to get that than before.

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
Isn't the first weekend after 31 March always "maintenance day" for gov't computers for the new fiscal year?

Re: Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
Wow, that is interesting. Not sure if that is good or not so good.
Now feel sorry for all of you who had to go through the hoopla of getting TPI designation.
Wonder how they (VAC) will determing CIA Supplement. Another VRAB process on the horizon, so they could be employed. I am sure they will not grant it withouth keeping themselves employed.
Thanks Bruce for that info.

Come April 1st, there will no longer be a classification of TPI it changes to Diminished Earning Capacity. In other words the government will no longer recognize any veteran as totally disabled.
