l thought that too, so l went back and read the posters other comments and he says the letter was about the 02-10 mistake. , “ Sorry, I got the date wrong. It was 2003 -2010, so the error was for 7 yrs.“ they added laterPpclicaper wrote:I believe that was more an individual situation, The miscalculation is more of an error in COLA calculations from 2003-2010 . Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
this is what someone else wrote on fb, then many others chimed in: “I got a letter in the mail from VAC yesterday that froze me in panic. It informed me that an accounting error had been made in my benefits since 2015 and that a re-assessment had been done. You can imagine the fear I felt as I turned to page 2. To my surprise, I'm getting a tax-free, lumpsum payment of $282.50 within the next 2 weeks. I can only guess that the error was only a matter of a few dollars, if it totaled $282 after 4 yrs. But what the heck, it's better than owing money right? So my question now is how many others will get the same letters?” But maybe this is just about that individual, and not the “ big error”?Ppclicaper wrote:Unknown .. was their payments for SRB or the miscalculation of COLA ? SRB payments have gone out . The COLA reimbursements for 2002/3-2010 , I do not believe anyone has received yet .
I believe the amount reimbursed with certainly reflect the % rates of the pension awarded to individual veterans. With higher % being reimbursed more.

there is a lawsuit forming even after the payout, nothing ventured nothing gainedbigrex wrote:Yes, it only applies to Veterans who were getting Pension Act pensions, during those years, because they were undercutting our Cost of Living increases. It's not going to be an exorbitant amount, with most people only getting a few hundred dollars, but it's the principle of it.

Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
same, others on line are saying they already got their payment in their bank account, vac mentions the “ error” on their fb page, but though I’m entitled I never even got a letter on the my vac account saying l was getting anything even at any point in the future. I guess I’m not the only one who “ fell through the cracks”, ld just like to know how much I’m missing out on, lol, I.e. is everyone getting the same, say two vets under PA for 5 years, or is it also dependent on their % at time of release, say one vet at 30% the other 60%.?Hellraiser wrote:I have been on pa pension since 2002 and have not heard from vac at all on this subject. Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
my limited understanding is that applies to those vets that were receiving a disability % ( PA) between 02/03-2010. VAC s numbers were off compared to what those vets in that window should have received, so if you got out in 04, was it with an injury percentage, say back 30%, then you should be entitled to something for the years 04-10.sailor964 wrote:So who is part of this error, I was medically released in 2004, on Sissip for 2 years, then on ELB since 2007.
