Collectively the whole class, is the same situation in regards to the Deemed taxes that will be assesssed, on a QRLSP calculation. Deemed taxes will apply to all. The GOC created this Tax grab by putting us in this situation.

Peter, is an attorney, his law firm has so many experts working for them, there is not a chance in hell he , Peter got it wrong, nothing is perfect, but lawyers don't use numbers, 93 percent, unless they are 100 percent sure its right, this deal has been sitting in Peters office for three months , studied by the whole law firm, it's correct and yes they wight be certain parts some of us don't like, but to play with fire, sending this deal back, is fool hardy and dangerous, the Harper Goverment can still fight this deal, look at the RCMP , and they can win , they can win by just legistraiting new laws and rules, and bye bye anything, and right now the public is semi behind us, imagine in these tight economic times us refusing this deal that most legal minds think is the best we can get for the class, we got a good deal , lets approve it and move on, it's better to have something than nothing, and nothing is what we will get if we play like we are in a casino and try to get just one more hit!

Nv, please stop saying that this is the best deal for 93% of the class, because nobody has proven that number, and I personally don't think they can.

One thing about the Education fund. The 10 million is not all ours to use. It is limited to a maximum of 4000 class members, at a maximum of $1300 each, for only 7.5 years. At the end of the 7.5 years, or our portion (5.2 million) is uded, whichever occurs first. the remainder is transferred to those Veterans who were clawed back under the ELB program. While the clawback for them was wrong, they were not part of the class and therefor monies set aside by the government to compensate them should not be calculated as part of our settlement.

I would have guessed that you (Lastchancefor fairness) are a fellow vet and I respect that you are trying to help that means you are a man of character. However most of us have sent letters and on previous threads our letters where posted on CSAT. I have sent letters to the PM and Justice Barnes and like most members here have had no response. We need representation above and beyond the conventional methods that are being expressed here. I offer my respect to you for trying to make a difference.

I am writing you today to ask you to spend time in the Canadian Soldiers Assistance Team Forums and review our months and months of inputs.You may walk away and really understand Us the injured Veterans, the Good, the Bad, the Ugly! This forum,along with Veterans Voice Info has over 110000 regular visitors many are severely injured Vets seeking answers to problems with the system. Our system has and is failing us. Many veterans will likely wish they had of written you after the fact and I am asking them to use my letter to motivate them to add their personal views. We are ill we have paid a huge price. We rely on you to ensure we are treat fairly and honorably in this class action law suit.
I ask you to consider all the facts, all the costs, all the needs and balance for us what is fair. I draw your attention to my personal concerns:

1. After taxes,legal fees and 37 years of waiting for a few (claw back back to 1976) - The average disabled veteran will received no more than 48- 52% of the actual offset amount.

2. If you approve this settlement and fees the law firm will received over $65,000,000.00 ( the GOC spent only $750,000)

3, The 10 million educational fund is limited to $1300.00 one time use per family only - One 6 credit hr course at university is $1800.00! Is this window dressing?

4. the RP $50000.00 stipend is a nice gesture. Is that close to being fair after all he has done and the amount the firm may receive?

Justice Barnes we need you to provide us with humanitarian treatment and assistance we are the victims of war we are the ones suffering!

Letters from the Brave!

this whole Class Action suit has never had public representation or has any corporation jumped on our side. There are many venues that we need to accomplish our goals but simple letters will not do, if anyone knows a celebrity or a public figure that would represent us then the public would listen. I am working on one such individual and I hope all works out.

You are welcome Lastchance but so many people have been scammed by naysayers and internet predators that If you had a name or corporation label veterans would jump on board.

My goal is for Justice Barnes to come on this actual site and read for himself. Read the opinions of our grass roots our privates corporal etc .Get a real feel for our situation.

There is lots of good things to be said also....I just would like him to have each and everyone's input to consider as he is that last chance to effect change.
