Re: Poll for month of June SISIP cheques
Freedom of speech in Canada is protected as a "fundamental freedom" by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
As in many democracies, freedom of speech is protected but it is not absolute; Section 1 of the Charter allows the government to pass laws that limit free expression so long as the limits are reasonable and can be justified. [1] This can often be the subject of controversy as some feel the conditions for reasonable justification are vague, granting the government an unreasonable amount of control over freedom of speech. Others feel that such restrictions are absolutely necessary in order to balance the fundamental freedoms of one party against those of another. Hate speech and obscenity are two examples that gain a lot of attention.

" You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood for something sometime in your life"
Sir Winston Churchill.
I would gather that we have all said something at one time or another about our elected dictatorship that would get us in hot water, it is the way of our times all around the world if you want freedom and believe in it than you must fight for it.
Every one will have to stay alert to what is happening
Just my thoughts.

freedom isn't free it takes constant vidulence to guard complete unfettered and hopefully respectful free speech. yes free speech with little to no restrictions within the law and if necessary outside the law without the fear of retribution.some say we still don't have it so we still must fight for it some say we have it,if so i say we must guard it with our lives as it can get withered and fleeting without constant care and vidulence.

Yes, we live in a democracy, but we now have a government in power that has been found in contempt of Parliament, and doesn't care. They've broken so many elections laws, they should have forfeited power. Even now the PMO is being investigated for corruption, not just Wright). Sean Bruyea thought he had the freedom of speech when he spoke out against the NVC, but that didn't stop them from using his private medical info undermine his concerns. Even Dennis, because the government couldn't retaliate against him directly because of the lawsuit, took aim at his brother, and denied him benefits from VAC. And these are just a few examples of the abuse of power the Harper government and senior bureaucrats have gotten away with, so I have no disillusions about the integrity of our government when it comes to them seeking retribution out on those who speak out against them.

Re: Poll for month of June SISIP cheques
trooper they were here listening as i got a hard time and had threds and posts locked and deleated because i wanted everyone to speak out and post what we the class expected from the negotiations.i was told by MC they were getting a hard time at the negotiating table over this and somehowe we were giving away secrets.peep recived a letter from sisip stating if he is running a gibnut hunt he must be able to work.yup without revieling his name here and making a joke about guiding hamster hunters he gets a letter like this.buds i got to say they were here and maybe im just paranoid but i don't think they have left.now im with ya when you say spy on as i don't say a lot i don't truly belive in and willing to fight for.

Re: Poll for month of June SISIP cheques
Although some members that in dire need of their retro, I can understand their frustration, on having to wait it out for their retro. All I would say to those is, I hope you are on the next list of processed claims. I for one don't give a fiddlers f--- if I'm the last to get paid. As far as the so called spy's that maybe following this site, I say spy on. Last I checked one requires a warrant to tap into ones IP address, and that is difficult to obtain, they are more or less for high level crimes such as child porn, and terrorist threats ect...Anyway with the monitoring that is put in place to follow the payment process, it's highly unlikely that any one group would be targeted. We live in a democratic country, we are all entitled to our freedom speech, so I would say to any spy's that may be among us, I hope that you are feeling good about yourselves, because you have not accomplished anything by doing so.

Re: Poll for month of June SISIP cheques
Thank you for you support ~ I will be fine ~ been through so many to date. Nice to know you care friends.
Nav has his own recent health concerns to process ~ sometimes we forget who is on the other side of the computer screen and what they may have to face in their personal lives has nothing to do with csat or the absense there of or any potential retro receipt.

Lori, good luck on your procedure and heal quickly. Since your hubby already got his cheque, you should be happy, not paranoid. That should alleviate a some of your financial worries while waiting for your retro.

Re: Poll for month of June SISIP cheques
DJ, how do you know DM has not been paid? He has all but disappeared as of late. The lawyers would probably have advised him to keep his payment hush hush, because if he was paid first, even if it truly was a random chance, it could be perceived as preferential treatment afforded to him as the representative client, in a system that is supposed to be completely random. Perception is reality.
As far as Nav getting paid, it is possible. He has stated in the past that he was only here until this came to an end, then he closes his account the same week that the cheques were sent, even though he did report the app said it was negative. But honestly, if he did, good for him. He earned that money, and I hold no ill will against him for getting his due.
Lori, as far as CSAT members being singled out, it would not be hard for the government to do. NIS (National Investigation Services) has the authority to contact ISP's and get user information based on your IP address. But for many on here, they do not even require that. Before you used it as your user name, you often posted your real identity, and so have others. Heck, my real name was used by the lawfirm in a post, with my username in brackets. So it would not take a genius compare the known names on CSAT to the list of SISIP class members and single out those individuals, if they wanted to.

Chin up Sparrow...good luck on your procedure and get back here soon. I fear some may implode or take it out on others without the Wisdom of the calming Sparrow. Talk soon.
