Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
I wanted this shit to be over so fucking badly today. I can't take it anymore. I'm not complaining about my own position in terms of finances. I just wanted all this shit sorted out for everyone. And now it'll drag on for years. The new benefit structure doesn't even come into effect for another 14 months.
That's when we'll really know how much of a shit show this really is.

Only change from present benefits is cia is tax free and a whole lot of name changes nobody wins nobody loses what they have now. Small change at 65.
Still no parity with PA veteran's, not one penny closer.
Only thing my accountant can't figure out is if you can receive care giver if you receive some PA. All this boils down to ladies and gentlemen is switching positions of what you already get changing name's for confusion purposes and smoke and mirrors and more money and jobs for vac employees + bonuses. Big steaming pile of baffle with bullshit!!!

What I don't understand is, on their own page, the only listed two examples of Veterans getting the APSC, both at 100% disabled. One got grade 2 and the other got grade 1. According to the fact sheet , those benefits are set at $1500 and $1000 and tax free. But when you look at their own examples, they list that their APSC were only 41440, and $960 per month, for a total monthly support of $2550 and $2060/ mo respectively

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
WILL MY PAYMENTS DECREASE AS A RESULT OF CONSOLIDATED BENEFITS?
Veterans will receive comparable benefits and amounts that are no less–before offsets–to those they were eligible to receive before March 31, 2019. The names of the benefits and the structure of the payment may look different. Whether or not the benefits are taxable may also change.
For those who previously received a lump sum Disability Award, a calculation will be done automatically to determine if any additional money should be paid to a Veteran on a monthly basis. Any future disability benefit applications will be for the PSC because it is replacing the current Disability Award.
wtf are these offsets?

Nav, like i said earlier, i think that was a mistake. i think that little notation was supposed to go on the APSC page.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Ya, bigrex but what about that little fine print at the bottom of the IRB page that says if you get EIA you can't get IRB , how they going to work that if IRB is the new eelb for those that receive EIA ????

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Where the hell was our "leader" Trudeau during this announcement? The Veterans helped secure his win and he has the balls to skip out on announceing his so called "campaign promise"....
So they raised the maximum to $2650.00 for Veterans receiving 100% and combined all other benefits under one application! THIS TOOK 2 YEARS?????
One Veteran...One Standard...The NEW AND IMPROVED VETERANS CHARTER is BETTER than the 1919 Pension Act!!! Shamus give your head a shake!
How many future veterans will actually benefit from this?
According to my "former case manager", not many disabled veterans receive the 100% disability rating!
Refresh my memory....Didn't Trudeau promise to reinstate the Pension Act?
This is heartbreaking😔
Cheers

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
The ONLY decent thing that came of these changes is they got rid of the RISB. So intead of getting 70% of whatever your benefits were at 65, your ELB (IRB) merely drops from 90%, to 70% of your military pay, and it doesn't include the APSC in it's calculations. You still lose, but not nearly as much.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Looks like VAC will be happy with the new amount of work coming their way in 're-ass-essing' all the 'benefits' that one 'may' qualify for. Employment for life guaranteed. Most of the $ will go towards new jobs for them. Maybe they will need to open some new service centers (what they do there, I am not sure).
