Just heard an interesting tidbit.... but who knows how valid it is, Ottawa is the home of rumour control. That being said, we shall see.
The rumour has it the government is going to "compromise" and announce that there will be a pension but it will be restricted to 1200 dollars a month for a 100 percent award. That, or take the LSA negligence based award at 360 grand.
While a marginal improvement, the 1200 threshhold is woefully inadequate and does not restore the balance when the 100 percent of pension act is approximately sixty percent higher!
There will be no equality in recognition of national sacrifice.
We shall see. |
have also heard they will defer till Friday or next week in order to ensure parliament is NOT in session and the main stream media news will be marginalized and forgotten by the time they return in late January
I can see this, it is a good strategy, perhaps has some merit.
Under normal circumstances.
But veterans are, in anything, beyond normal and as a consequence
Can you supply the link to this information please Johnny.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
if they give it on top of your lump sum seeing many have already taken it but by the sounds of it this would be for vets on new applications going forward and not back dated to anyone that has already taken the lump sum so for those of us in the beginning that did not have a choice we would be shafted and if they said seeing you got shafted we will wait till your timeline catches up which would mean a 22.2 years before you would be able to receive your payments that sounds like something the gov would do to its vets by taking a dump and planting us right in the middle hope this is not the case

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Today was buy 18 used Australian F-18's day! I guess we didn't learn from "buy used British submarine day" a while back so we are destined once again to repeat the mistakes of the past. Like you said Johnny211, three days to go.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Well all is quiet on the big announcement. Like Fort Knox at DVA. Anyone hearing rumours on the date? Next Friday is there last sitting day, then there into 2018. Seems like my earlier prediction of announcing it on the very last day may ring true. That way they can give the Vets the shaft for Xmas. Merry Xmas from JT, Not.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Thanks. I just don't have a clue how the old lifelong program worked.
I guess everyone is in the dark.

For my information. How would lifelong pension work in my case?
I'm at 40% disability. 4C release Volunteerily. On elb and rehab program and CIA. Don't currently receive a pension.
Nobody knows anything for sure yet, might get more info Monday. Stay tuned details will trickle out.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
I do like this for the veteran's being medically released in the future no pressure just think about schooling and retraining something I needed but was denied.
1.PA veteran's are well looked after!
2. Future veteran's have a better chance of success!
3. Question is what about those in the middle who signed
Under PA went threw all the bs and ended up with NVC or
A mixed bag of both low end pa higher end Nvc.
I feel we should be grandfathered.
and anything going forward
Be under what ever their coming up with now.
That's the fair thing to do as between 2006 to 2018
Are some messed up times a real gaggle ----!!!
If this is true sisip is no longer necessary for future veteran's
Can they force them to pay for something that has no
Benefit to them?
Quote: were going to take our time and get it right!!!
Guess we will just have to wait and see...

Well stated vet, if this turns out to be the case it's about time PA vet's stand up and back their brothers and sisters in arm's!!!Vet1234 wrote:maybe they shouldve picked up the bodies at the dog fight and Spin boldak explosions instead of me. or went building to building during medusa flipping floor mats and killing men that looked like boys. i dont think we'd even have to worry about this petty bs. I shouldve known better. theyve got our backs though.... i guess we have different opinions on what that means.

Re: Silence on Life Time Policy
Nav that would suggest we lost the lawsuit or there are some idiot negotiators. If that's the case all who signed under pa should be grandfathered! This sounds like bs as lower percentages are still screwed. Could they be this stupid a second time?
