Teen , I know the legion will support the GOC especially if they give the Legion some of what the Legion wanted ie. ELB for life. As much as I hate dissing my favorite watering hole the GOC uses the legion to back them up. JT just says hey the legion supports this. I don't know but tell me this if they give vets 1200 a month for non economic loss and extend ELB at 100 per cent for life it's going to be real hard for veterans to convince Joe civilian that we have it bad. Thank God the RCMP was smart enough to keep the PA and I thank God everyday for the PA . Wild thing I feel for you guys but with the loss in the courts and the other parties stating No return to PA , this War might just be over. Winners and losers and it's a shame

Over the 25 year span I'm losing after all calculations
405.320 bucks to bring me equal with PA.
Better not be any losing. Teen their will be two law suits, breach of contract and sacrid obligation. Double the fight double the chances best hope breach of contract. They sure won't get any votes they screw veteran's. I find it amusing that the top brass and PA veteran's with authority are making deal's that always grandfather them !!! Thanks Nav will wait and see...

Ahhhh what happens if the Legion doesn't agree with it?

And there is still the Supreme Court of Canada appeal Equitas still has as an option.

Lawsuit over , GOC won , there is going to be some big time losers in this but the GOC doesn't care because those ones usually don't vote liberal anyway.

This will be the last improvement, if you call it that, veterans going forward will ever see. PA veterans are already grandfathered nothing changes for them. Just the ones who got DA awards post 2006 until announcement will lose

They have to inform the legion of there intentions so the legion can support it when the details are released.

how do you know this?  Is it based on fact or just a speculation?  Nobody know any details yet.....not to mention that everyone who is fighting for the re-establishment of pensions 2006 onwards are on the NVC and would of got the lump sum. That is why the whole Equitas suit was started as it was unfair. If so that would be ALOT (11 yrs worth) of pissed off Vets!!

yaaaa admittedly the math looks like something the GOC would try and sell but in this instance I don't thinks so . ya see the smoke and mirrors game comparing the buyout to the pension has been run as well by the GOC spin doctors or as well as it could be given the circumstances . plays better with the target audience ( civies) due to all the confusion they deliberately generate . question;;; how the frack do you spin a comparison between one monthly pension to another ?????

answer ::::: well ya still can but it aint gonna be easy and the best you can come up with would not be very believable .

I'm thinkin they will screw vets in a far more complicated way thus easier to spin.

Yes but ELB will be for life! Also at 100 percent. New pension will be on a go forward basis so if you already got an award you can't get the new pension.

Bruce72 - found it on Mike Blais fb page, could be rumour as he says, but who knows. I find it interesting that maybe instead of announcing it in the next 3 days, they could wait till the house is out next week, and do it. Sounds like VAC. No press to see it, and no opposition to ask ? About it. Ya bend over..VVV..

So $1200/m multiplied by 12 months is $14400 a year.

$14400/y multiplied by 25 years is $360,000

Hmm.......
