Sorry again propat but the answer trooper just asked is NO.

Interest on retro money stops May 2012. That is when the case was settled.

Any interest after May 2012 will be applied to the LTD for those reinstated for montly LTD payments that were missed in the year 2012 after the month of May.

The retro payments interest comes from the GoC.

Interest on the LTD after May 2012 comes from Manulife.

So if you were not reinstated for LTD after May 2012 you will not receive a check for lost LTD after May 2012 and you will not receive a check from Manulife for interest on your retro that took them time to calculate your retro payment.

Well than propat, if that is the case, it will make for a lot of happy members, of the non reinstated group, no Legal fees applied to this. Like I have said before, I could not get a confirmation answer on this.

Propat, so are you are saying that all class members ( including those members that were not reinstated ) will receive a cheque from Manulife, for 5% of  interest, from end May 2012, to the Month that their retro was received in trust by MC ? This is the question being asked.

trooper I think many are getting mixed up between the four months retro and the interest.these are two separate issues. only those not payed for those 4 months will get those four months but all will get the interest.

No greed Sapper, every bit counts for all. I have stated this Months ago, but I was shot down by many, however the fact remains that the order does not specify just reinstated members. Even the amended Oct 16th order, has not changed in regards to this. The problem is when I inquired about it Months ago, I was told mixed answers. In other words some at SISIP said it was for all members, where some said it was just for reinstated members. So the members that were not reinstated would be the ones, who could inquirer about it now.

I agree with these posts. It would be nice to have some clarity on the issue though. We kept guessing the whole way through this settlement process. I truly hope we are correct in assuming the interest is coming directly from sisip. Not being greedy here, as some are still waiting, but If it is owed as per the court order let it be so.

trooper I concur MC would only be sent the monies where legal fees were to be applied the rest would come directly from SISIP.

Just to add to the above post from teen.
The order states : 5% from May 1 2012 to the date the amount is paid to MC in trust. This in my mind would include all members of the class, regardless if you were reinstated or not. Now it has been stated that Legal fees cannot be applied after May 2012. So all money, and or interest owed after May 2012 has to come directly from Manulife, excluding any Legal fees. That may the reason why the 5% interest from end May to the date the amount is paid in trust to MC, was not included in all of the members retro's. So is it safe to assume that all members of the class, will receive 5% interest, directly from Manulife, excluding Legal fees, from end May 2012, up until the Month that our retro's were sent to MC ? One thing to keep in mind, the order does not address this percent amount, directly to the members who were reinstated. So this would be something to look into.

When the GoC decided not to appeal the Judges decision in May of 2012 that is the 'end' date for retro interest.

On the same day it was stated that LTD clients would be reinstated. That's the 4 or so months of actual pay owed to us and interest will be applied to that pay owed to us that was not given to us.

So there is nothing really running afoul here.

I guess we all had better file a motion of protest....something stinks here!! Get the word out to all processed members...we haven't been paid as per the court order... 17 months missing for me...interest payable on total offset of 5% has not been paid...WTF??
